Privacy first

Two paths.
Maximum privacy and security.

Voio has two features. Both are designed from the ground up to keep what you write and what you say safe. Here's exactly how — in plain language.

Side by side

Two paths, no surprises.

Both designed to protect what you write and say. Here's how each path works — point by point.

Side by side
lock Stays local and secured
Keyboard language correction
mic Goes to anonymous transcription
Voice dictation
What happens Voio detects when you're typing in the wrong keyboard language and fixes the text — in real time, before anything leaves your screen. When you hold the dictation key and speak, Voio turns your voice into text in whatever app you're using.
Where it runs On your computer, in memory only. A third-party AI provider's servers — processed transiently, in real time.
What we store Nothing
Each keystroke is read, used to detect the mismatch, and discarded immediately.
Nothing
Audio is transcribed and immediately discarded — by us and by the provider.
Cloud usage Zero. Works fully offline. No internet required, ever. Only while you're actively holding the dictation key. Nothing is sent at any other time.
Identifiability No identity, no logs, no record — there's nothing to attribute back to you. Anonymous. Audio is not tied to your account, your identity, or any unique fingerprint.
Your control Always on. Always private. Nothing to configure. Turn on Privacy Mode in Settings to disable cloud post-processing entirely.

The honest truth. Voio's keyboard correction reads keystrokes in memory only, just long enough to detect a language mismatch, then discards them. Voice dictation transmits audio only while you're holding the dictation key, and the audio is destroyed at the provider after transcription. Neither feature ever writes your input to disk, sends it to our servers, or hands it to a third party for any purpose other than the one you triggered.
Peace-of-mind answers

The honest answers.

No legal hedging — just plain explanations for the things people actually wonder about.

Is Voio a keylogger? Why is it safe?

It's not a keylogger. Voio uses the same Windows API that keyloggers use (WH_KEYBOARD_LL), but that's where any resemblance ends. A keylogger records what you type and ships it somewhere. Voio reads keystrokes locally, in memory, only to detect a language mismatch — and immediately discards them.

We built Voio's keyboard correction to be architecturally incapable of transmitting what you type. There's no code path that writes keystrokes to disk or sends them to a server. That's not a policy promise — that's how it's wired.

What happens to my voice when I use dictation?

Audio is sent to a third-party AI transcription provider only while you're actively holding the dictation key. The provider transcribes it in real time and discards the audio immediately after. Neither we nor the provider stores your voice — and the audio isn't tied to your account or any unique identifier on the way through.

If you want zero cloud involvement, turn on Privacy Mode in Voio's Settings. This disables LLM post-processing and limits cloud interaction to the bare minimum required for the transcription itself.

Can I use Voio entirely offline?

Yes. Keyboard correction is 100% local — it doesn't need an internet connection, and you can use Voio offline indefinitely with no degradation to that feature.

To completely avoid the cloud, simply don't use voice dictation. The keyboard correction will continue to work without any internet at all.

Where can I read the full privacy policy?

Our full Privacy Policy covers everything in legal detail, including your rights under Israeli Privacy Protection Law and EU GDPR. Our Terms of Service covers the contractual side. Both are written in plain language.

If you have questions, email vika@tryvoio.app or message us on WhatsApp — a real human reads every message.

Voio's architecture isn't an opinion. It's a wire diagram. We can't share what we don't have — and we don't have what we never collected.
